I don’t think I had articulated that I was highly sensitive, so I felt like there was something “wrong” with me in that I perceived the world in a way that was different to everyone around me (or so I thought) and I always just felt a little bit out of reach within my connections with people. Since finishing this MENTORSHIP, I have been able to put into words a lot of what has been bouncing around in my brain for a long time, particularly with my husband. I’m kinder to myself (as best as I can be) and I’m creating better boundaries where I need them, to allow for me to care for myself and what I need.

I was also able to make a connection between my emotional regulation and over shopping/overeating so that helped me be able to work through that more and be more aware of it.

Doing the course has allowed me to prioritize my own self development. It’s not something I’ve always done for myself and that was the real benefit. Secondly, it’s given me the language around talking about being highly sensitive and that’s been powerful. Thirdly, it’s allowed me to stop and take stock of where life currently stands and what I want it to look like moving forward.

Before the mentorship programme I was always trying to change myself. I did not believe that being sensitive was considered a desirable trait, particularly in the workforce. As a consequence of this, I spent most of my working career trying to be someone that I was not.


I never believed that being sensitive was a positive trait, this changed after Lou’s course.

The Soulful & Sensitive MENTORSHIP taught me how to embrace my sensitive nature, and in doing this, focus on its positive attributes, including in a corporate environment.

As a legal practitioner and a member of the executive team, I always thought being sensitive negatively impacted what I could achieve, as being sensitive is generally perceived by others as a weakness.

This course was a game changer as it made me realise, that having these attributes, and utilising them to their advantage actually provided better outcomes than it would otherwise, and that having sensitive attributes was actually my superpower. It also taught me that I can be sensitive, whilst still being strong, and provided methods to enhance this in various areas of my life.


Additionally, it also taught me how to interact with other sensitive individuals, including my daughter, and provided me with the foundations of how I can help her embrace her sensitive attributes, which I wish my younger self would have known.

Before the MENTORSHIP I always hid my sensitivity, I felt ashamed and thought that people saw it as a weakness. My husband now says, I thought you were ‘being lazy’ when you took yourself into the bedroom to rest during the day. We live in a society that celebrates ‘doing’ and achieving and ‘rest’ is not embraced.

I now understand my superpower of ‘wisdom’. I learnt to cry again. Taking antidepressants over 10 plus years has numbed and suppressed my feelings and blocked me from accessing so many feelings. Lou taught many practical tools, including yoga practices and shamanic healing techniques, including ‘shaking’ practices.

I realize now why I love my weekly Zumba class for releasing and healing emotions trapped in my body. I have learned to feel more joy for my husband and children.

A huge shift in connection and ‘crystal clear communication’ in relationship with my husband. After my husband listened to Lou’s module on ‘relationships’ he bought the book ‘The five love languages’ and realized that we are very different in how we feel loved. His ‘acts of service’ and my ‘physical touch’ love languages need attention from both of us.

I realize the gift of my empathy and helping my daughters with resolving conflict. A ‘hidden, unseen’ gift that I bring to my family. I can pick up on their nervous systems and can sense what they need in any given moment. I was always able to anticipate situations when the girls were babies and needing feeding, sleep or overstimulated. I now see this as a ‘superpower’.

I learnt that perfectionism and people pleasing is a trait of being an HSP. However, by calling it out and practicing ‘messy action’ that Lou teaches, it is slowing chipping away at the black and white thinking and softening the high achieving trait within me. I have more daily self-compassion and celebrate my ‘wisdom’ and special intuition that guides me in life.


Every area of my life has been affected in a positive way. The course took a deep dive into my current life and picked apart areas that needed healing and growth. To simplify life and make rest and empty space a priority to thrive.

I don’t think I had articulated that I was highly sensitive, so I felt like there was something “wrong” with me in that I perceived the world in a way that was different to everyone around me (or so I thought) and I always just felt a little bit out of reach within my connections with people. Since finishing this MENTORSHIP, I have been able to put into words a lot of what has been bouncing around in my brain for a long time, particularly with my husband. I’m kinder to myself (as best as I can be) and I’m creating better boundaries where I need them, to allow for me to care for myself and what I need.

I was also able to make a connection between my emotional regulation and over shopping/overeating so that helped me be able to work through that more and be more aware of it.

Doing the course has allowed me to prioritize my own self development. It’s not something I’ve always done for myself and that was the real benefit. Secondly, it’s given me the language around talking about being highly sensitive and that’s been powerful. Before the mentorship programme I was always trying to change myself. I did not believe that being sensitive was considered a desirable trait, particularly in the workforce. As a consequence of this, I spent most of my working career trying to be someone that I was not.


I never believed that being sensitive was a positive trait, this changed after Lou’s course.

The Soulful & Sensitive MENTORSHIP taught me how to embrace my sensitive nature, and in doing this, focus on its positive attributes, including in a corporate environment.

As a legal practitioner and a member of the executive team, I always thought being sensitive negatively impacted what I could achieve, as being sensitive is generally perceived by others as a weakness.

Before the MENTORSHIP I always hid my sensitivity, I felt ashamed and thought that people saw it as a weakness. My husband now says, I thought you were ‘being lazy’ when you took yourself into the bedroom to rest during the day. We live in a society that celebrates ‘doing’ and achieving and ‘rest’ is not embraced.

I now understand my superpower of ‘wisdom’. I learnt to cry again. Taking antidepressants over 10 plus years has numbed and suppressed my feelings and blocked me from accessing so many feelings. Lou taught many practical tools, including yoga practices and shamanic healing techniques, including ‘shaking’ practices.

I realize now why I love my weekly Zumba class for releasing and healing emotions trapped in my body. I have learned to feel more joy for my husband and children.

A huge shift in connection and ‘crystal clear communication’ in relationship with my husband. After my husband listened to Lou’s module on ‘relationships’ he bought the book ‘The five love languages’ and realized that we are very different in how we feel loved. His ‘acts of service’ and my ‘physical touch’ love languages need attention from both of us.

I realize the gift of my empathy and helping my daughters with resolving conflict. A ‘hidden, unseen’ gift that I bring to my family. I can pick up on their nervous systems and can sense what they need in any given moment. I was always able to anticipate situations when the girls were babies and needing feeding, sleep or overstimulated. I now see this as a ‘superpower’.

I learnt that perfectionism and people pleasing is a trait of being an HSP. However, by calling it out and practicing ‘messy action’ that Lou teaches, it is slowing chipping away at the black and white thinking and softening the high achieving trait within me. I have more daily self-compassion and celebrate my ‘wisdom’ and special intuition that guides me in life.


Every area of my life has been affected in a positive way. The course took a deep dive into my current life and picked apart areas that needed healing and growth. To simplify life and make rest and empty space a priority to thrive.
